Product Detail
Concrete Binder & Hardener is a colorless liquid resin that penetrates deep into concrete or other porous materials to provide a dust-free, hardened surface. It strengthens weak, dusty or poor quality concrete. It is ideal for most industrial floors including warehouses, machine shops and more.
Features and Benefits:
- Suitable for a wide range of porous surfaces
- Hardens & dust-proofs
- Low solvent content & virtually odorless
- Easy to apply with a Soft Broom
- For interior or exterior applications
- Absorbs deep into surface
- Micro-porous, allowing the substrate to breathe
- Ideal for weak or dusty concrete, porous brick, block work or plaster walls
- Suitable previously untreated concrete and masonry surfaces
- Covers approximately 325 sq. ft. per 1.3 gallons. One coat covers most surfaces
- Ready for light foot traffic in 12 hours in 60 to 70°F

How to Apply
Surface Preparation
The surface to be treated must be dry and free from all loose material and previous coatings. Oil or grease should be removed withBio-D Floor Degreaser and Cleaner or a similar emulsifying degreaser and the area hosed off with water and allowed to dry. The surface must be porous to allow the Universal Sealer to penetrate. If there is doubt that the substrate is absorbent, pour some water onto the surface. If the water is easily absorbed, the surface is suitable for treating with Universal Sealer. New concrete should not be treated until the surface is sufficiently dry to absorb the solution (usually at least 7 days in good drying conditions).
Application
Apply within a range of 40-85°F. Do not use at temperatures below 40°F. Pour directly onto the floor from the container. Use a soft broom or brush to distribute the solution, working it well into the surface. Ensure that the surface has absorbed as much solution as it can. Avoid ponding, i.e. do not allow any unabsorbed surplus to remain and subsequently dry on the surface. Use the broom to sweep any excess solution onto adjacent areas. One coat is normally sufficient on average quality concrete. A second coat may be required on exceptionally porous substrates. Allow the surface 12-16 hours to dry before making a second application.
Coverage
The coverage rate will vary depending upon the porosity of the concrete. For the purpose of estimating coverage, assume 325 sq. ft. per 1.3 gallons.
Curing Time
Concrete Binder & Hardner will accept foot traffic and light vehicle traffic after 12 hours, and will be fully cured after 24 hours. Do not wash the treated surface for 48 hours. These curing times assume a temperature of 60-70°F and good ventilation. Temperatures below 60°F will prolong the curing time.
